Pichla Varka (The Previous Page), Documentary, 60mins, 2019
A group of elderly women meet to play cards every afternoon in the neighbourhood of Kirti Nagar in west Delhi. Through the act of filming, the filmmaker sets up a frame for conversations around the construction of memory, cycles of forgetting and remembering and tries to deconstruct the structure of historical and political narratives within the domestic environment of her own home.
At times overlapping and often slipping through the cracks, the film explores the nature of family, property, home and homeland.
